He graduated from Girard's Rice Avenue Union High School in 1945. Upon completing high school he was inducted into the U.S. Army, serving in the Medical Corps. Following his discharge from the Army he returned to Girard and worked for Girard Model Works-Marx Toy Company for many years. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
Rudy was preceded in death in 1962 by his wife Agnes Gido Sabol, whom he married in Erie on September 15, 1951. He was also preceded by six sisters, Agnes Sabol Gido, Marian Baracka, Margaret Kozak, Ann Winkler, Ethel Bensur and Julie Chulick and by two brothers, Andrew (d 9 Apr 1999 Girard) and Albert Sabol. He was also preceded in death by his very close and personal friend Mary Jane Szawan.
Surviving is his daughter, Susan Sabol; his son, John Sabol; a sister, Elaine Barner; a brother, Frank Sabol and his wife Jean; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Burial, with full military honors, in St. John's Cemetery.
