Elsie L. Voss, 85, retired administrator of housekeeping and resident of Tulare passed away June 7, 2014. She was born July 3, 1928 to Dwight & Nettie Layman in Polk County, Arkansas. Elsie has lived in California since 1952. She was a great mother, and grandmother. She loved to cook and she was especially known for her jamsand jellies. Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, Jackson Voss, her son Jack Voss Jr., daughter Pam Canby and two brothers. She is survived by her Son Dempsey Lee Voss of Summerville, Oregon, two sisters: Bobbie Lankford and Ollie Cumby both of Russellville, Arkansas, three grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Viewing will be held from 12-8 p.m. Tuesday at Peers Lorentzen Funeral Chapel, Tulare. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Tulare District Cemetery, 900 E. Kern Ave., Tulare.
