Ray was born on September 14, 1924 in Olive Hill, Kentucky to parents; Harlan and Reppie Loraine (Carpenter) Johnson. He served his Country proudly in the United States Marine Corps during WWII.
Ray married Phyllis Carol Stone on April 20, 1949. Together they shared more than 65 years of marriage and had seven wonderful children.
Ray was a remarkable man; he was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Ray served as Pastor of the Apostolic House of Prayer Church in Garrettsville, Ohio, for more than 49 years. He also worked as a crane operator for Republic Steel Corp., retiring in 1991
Ray is survived by his wife, children; Judy (Ray) Buckner, Niles, Susan White, Kent, Peggy (Mark) Davis, Zanesville, Thomas Johnson, Warren, Pam (Randy) Lent, Zanesville, Joyce (Walt) Blagaich, Howland Twp., 11 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.
Preceding Ray in death are his parents, son; Keith Johnson, grandson; Thomas Johnson, Jr., and son in law; Carl White.
For those who have endured so much we know that they would rather be with the LORD.
