A mass of Christian Burial for Violet D. Gaskins, who was active in a genealogical group, will be offered at 10 a.m. tomorrow in The Lady Chapel of The Cathedral of Mary Our Queen 5200 North Charles Street.

Mrs. Gaskins, who was 87, died Sunday at her home in the 1200 block of Robin Hood Circle in Ruxton after an illness of more than a month.

The former Violet Duvall was a native of Baltimore and was active in the Society of Mareen DuVall Descendants. Mareen Duvall emigrated from France and settled in Prince George's County in the early 1600's.

Mrs. Gaskins played the piano, wrote poety, did needlework and was fond of gardening.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Florence Zavadil of Ruxton.
