Betty Jean Heischman, 91, of Findlay, died at 3:20 a.m., Monday, June 9, 2014, at Birchaven Village, Findlay. She born on December 10, 1922, in Perry Township, Wood County, to the late Charles M. and Mary Ellen (Gangle) Conine. The family moved to Hancock County and Betty went to school at the Arcadia School, where she graduated in 1941. Betty worked at the Electric Auto Lite from 1941-1948. She married Fred Heischman in 1943, and he survives. Betty enjoyed sewing, counted cross stitch and quilting. She really enjoyed golfing and spending a lot of time out on the course. Betty and Fred traveled considerably, to all 50 states, much of Canada and was on two trips to Western Europe. Betty gave birth to two daughters: Alana (Rex) Mellott of Rising Sun and Cheryl (Joe) Moyer of Fostoria. She now has five grandsons and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Dessie Wells, Paul Conine, Lois Holman, Carl Conine, Gyneth Garmen-Zimmerman, Kenneth Conine, Marjorie Nesbitt, Arthur Conine, Lovene Seaman, Alfred Conine, Dorothy Robbins, Clayton Conine, Marylyn Binger-Miller and Miriam Binger. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay. Burial will be private in Arcadia Cemetery, Washington Township. Visitation will be held 2 hours prior (1:00-3:00 p.m.) to the service Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
