Donald Shaker Zakeer Sr, Just a month shy of his 92nd birthday, Don passed away at home with his loving family present June 29, 2013.
Born July 25, 1921, in Kewanee Illinois to Smi & Carl Zakeer.
Raised in Fort Dodge Iowa, Don later served in the Army's Armored Division in World War II for 4 years, returning home to join the family business. Salesman extraordinaire, he & his family relocated to MN, where he helped open the very first Target store. He then moved on to a variety of successful sales ventures. A dedicated Vikings fan, he looked forward to a Super Bowl win while smoking his favorite pipe.
Survived by wife of 37 years, Susan; son and daughter-in-law, Zeke & Marcy; daughter and son-in-law, Judy & Jim Dumas; grandchildren, Amie, Ross, Justin, Chad, Cody and wife, Mandy; brother and sister-in-law, Bob & Marie; nephew, Tom; "Special Grands", Joe & Sarah McAllister; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mark & Nancy Gilderhus; nieces, Kiki & Lili and rescued dog, Rosco.
