Fred passed away April 24, 2009, at his home in Coronado, with his sons by his side. He was born February 10, 1924, in Helena, MO, to Mary (Hartman) and Frederick T. Rowbotham.
Fred retired from the Marine Corps, received his Masters degree from SDSU, served as Comptroller for Cajon Valley School District, was President, CEO, and Board member of the Army-Navy Academy in Carlsbad. He was also a founding Board Officer of Mission Federal Credit Union, serving on its Board for many years.
He was widowed twice: Sarah G. Homme 1942-1961 and Marie Bell LaGrange 1962-2002. He is survived by his sons Fred O. and Glyndon, and stepson Howard LaGrange; four grandchildren, Kirsten, Fredrick B., Dennis and Sarah J.; also three great-grandchildren, Lucy, Fredrick J., and Allison. Graveside Services will be Thursday, April 30th, at 11 a.m. at Greenwood Mortuary.
