ROBERTS - Martha D. Hawkes Roberts, 80, born Jan. 8, 1934, in South Carolina, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2014 in the gentle care of hospice and family.
Delores was born in South Carolina, she married and moved to Ohio. Fondly known by her friends and family as "Delores" who was a gentle lady which took great pride in creating a loving home for her family. Delores was a loving woman who enjoyed traveling anywhere her car would take her. Although she was born in South Carolina, she spent most of her adult life in Ohio raising her family. She was a devout Christian who tried to keep peace amongst her family and friends. She wanted nothing more than to be with her family. She loved reading her Bible, watching old movies, and watching all the game shows.
Preceded in death by husband, Weldon Otis Hawkes Sr.; parents, Lawrence R. and Martha Bilton Britt; brother, John Britt.
Survivors include seven children, Delores Diana Hawkes, Mellie Theresa Hawkes, Weldon Otis (Brenda Kay) Hawkes Sr., Dwayne Allen (Velda) Hawkes, Cheryl Darlene (James) Clark, Terry Lynn (Kimberly) Hawkes, Tammy J. (Edward) Patterson; 18 grandchildren, Joanna, Mark, Bobby, Cynthia, Sherry, Kristi, Jenni, Joshua, Austin, Amy, Travis, Sophia, Dustin, Christopher, Courtney, Charissa, Joseph, and Andy; 16 great-grandchildren, Ryan, Dillion, Deanna, Michael, Jacob, Stephany, Seth, Tyler, Nathaniel, Emily, Ashlynn, Weston, Bridget, Logan, Abigail, Isaac and Angelina; a brother, Robert Eugene "Gene" Britt; four sisters, Louise (Ronnie) Brown, Elizabeth (Eddie) Alexander, Patricia (Drake) Browder, and Lillie Brinker; many nieces and nephews.
