Franklin D. Fox, 90, of Prosperity Drive, died at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

Franklin was born June 25, 1923, in Columbus, Indiana, the son of Ara Willis and Agnes Pearce Fox. He married Mabel I. Odle January 4, 1990.

Franklin was born in Columbus, raised in Jonesville, and graduated from Columbus High School. He married Verna (Enochs) Warner in 1949 and she passed December 8, 1981.

He worked for Pepsi, Sap's Bakery, and Art's Cleaners, and delivered dry cleaning for Benzol Cleaners for over 30 years and for Burd's Cleaners for three years. He was a member of Mount Pleasant Christian Union Church, Hartsville Masonic Lodge, Loyal Order of the Moose and the American Legion SAL.

Franklin was a kind and gentle man and no one ever had an unkind word to say about him. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, singing and karaoke.

Friday with a Masonic memorial service at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Mabel, who he loved dearly. He also leaves a son, Charles (Julie) Fox of Columbus; a daughter, Candice Henney of Ohio; stepdaughters, Sandra (Mark) Taylor of Bloomington, Peggy (Warner) Swafford of Columbus, and Patricia (Warner) Sparks of Seymour; stepsons, Joseph Ed Warner of New Castle and John Warner of Columbus; 25 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several stepgrandchildren; and a sister, Phyllis Rothrock of Hope.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Verna; three stepsons; brothers, Amasa Fox, Carl Fox and Paul Fox; and a sister, Ruth Rudolph.
