Carolyn Hilson, age 85, of Sylacauga, passed away on December 3, 2009. Mrs. Hilson was a graduate of Woodlawn High School and Howard College where she was a member of Alpha Delta Phi. She received her MA from the University of Montevallo. She taught in the Sylacauga City Schools for 29 years.
She was active at the First United Methodith Church as a Sunday school teacher and in the UMW women. She was active in the Alpha Delta Kappa, a teacher service sorority, and she was a member of the Matrons study club.
Survivors include two daughters, four grandchildren and five great-grandsons.
Funeral service will be held Monday, December 7, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Sylacauga. Burial will be at 3:00 p.m. in Elmwood Cemetery. Rev. Lewis Archer officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 9:30-11:00 a.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First United Methodist Church or BB Comer Memorial Library.
