Actor. After graduation from the School of Moscow Theatre, he began work onstage. His first film appearance was in 1941 and he went on to make over one hundred forty three movie and television appearances. He was known for "Ivan da Mariya," "Kaschel the Immortal," and the mini series "Vozvrashchenie Budulaya." In 1980, we was awarded the "People's Artist of the Republic," and Order of the Red Banner of Labor in 1991. He died after a fall while in the hospital.
