BERLIN - Cornelius P. O'Brien, 73, of 44 Dudley Road died Friday night in Bolton Manor Nursing Home, Marlboro, after an illness.

His wife, Mary (Valade) O'Brien, died in 1986. He leaves two sons, John E. O'Brien of Los Angeles and Patrick J. O'Brien of Maynard; four daughters, Elizabeth F. Rich of Northboro, Elaine L. O'Brien of Palm Bay, Fla., Kathleen A. Burton of Berlin and Mary A. Berkowitz of Chicago; and six grandchildren.

He was born in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada, and lived here many years. He served in the British Navy during World War II.

Mr. O'Brien was an extruder operator at New England Tape Co. in Hudson for many years before he retired.

The funeral will be held Tuesday from Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson, with a Mass at 9 a.m. in Christ the King Church, 48 Central St., Hudson. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours at the funeral home are 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow.
