Major League Baseball Player, Journalist. He played in one game at second base for the Louisville Grays, then in the National League, in 1877. The left-handed batter went hitless in four at-bats and committed three errors. The son of Courier-Journal publisher Walter Haldeman, the younger Haldeman broke the story of a scandal that involved four Louisville players, star pitcher Jim Devlin, shortstop Bill Craver, infielder Albert Nichols and George Hall, throwing games for cash. All four were banned from baseball for life.
