Carl Shumpert, 55, of Gulf Breeze, Fla., died at 10 a.m. on April 10, 1973 in Pensacola, Fla. following a short illness. He was a retired mechanic and was a member of the Baptist Church in Gulf Breeze. Services were held April 11 at the Fisher-Pou Funeral Home in Pensacola. Burial was in the Bay View Cemetery in Pensacola.Survivors included his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Shumpert of Tupelo; his wife, Mrs. Irene Shumpert of Gulf Breeze; two sons, Jerry of Montgomery, Ala., and Jimmy of Pensacola; two brothers, Billy and Herman Shumpert, both of Tupelo; two grandchildren.
