at Merwin school in 1948 to
succeed Mrs. May Alin Brownfield
when she retired.Prior to accepting the position
he had served as principal
at Childress, Texas, and had
taught at Wellington high
school, Wellington, Texas.
He was a graduate of Southeastern
State college at Durant,
Oklahoma,
Prior to his death Russell had
been appointed principal of the
new Covina school
Traweek intermediate school on
Rowland avenue.
Russell was born in Texas on
Feb. 15th 1905, and came to Callforma
about five years ago.
In addition to his-widow,
Mary, who lives at 4307 Filhurst
street, Baldwin Park, he
is survived by a daughter, Mrs.
Ginger O'Kelley of the same
address; and a sister Mrs Euna
Aberlee of Los Angeles.
