George Washington, and they lived in the Washington's home in Philadelphia where Polly and Martha became fast friends. Their child, Benjamin Lincoln Lear was born in the Washington home and President George Washington was his god father.
Polly died in the Yellow Fever epidemic that hit Philadelphia in the 1790s. Hers was the only funeral that George Washington attended after he became President.
