On 25 Jul 1893 Lawrence married Elizabeth Rothfuss and they had nine children: Frederick, Albert, George, Barbara, Lena, Rudolph, Theodore, Lillian and Francis. Both he and Elizabet were murdered after a dispute with a neighbor. He died of the gunshot wounds that he received. Lawrence was 64.
