He graduated from the Chandler Scientific Dept of Dartmouth college in 1868, under the guideance of his cousin Prof. John Smith Woodman, who for many years was the head of the Chandler school. he was a young man of high character and much promise, but for the disease that held his energies in check, would have made his mark in life. So he was dead at the age of twenty-three and never married.
