Gerald Earl Wedin, 69, of Marinette, Wis., passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at Aurora BayCare Hospital in Green Bay. He was born October 20, 1944, in Menominee, Mich., to the late Wallace and Ellen Francis (Wesley) Wedin.

He graduated from Menominee High School in 1963, and then briefly attended The Milwaukee School of Engineering. Gerry was then drafted into the Army in 1965 where he proudly served in the Vietnam Conflict from 1966-1967.

Gerald married Grace Louise Walters, of Marinette, Wis., on October 21, 1967, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Walsh.
Together they had three children: Brian, Kelly, and Bradley. He worked for Ansul Corporation, in Marinette, as a machinist and later Associate Industrial Engineer from 1967-2009 (42 years). Gerald also served in the Wisconsin Army National Guard from 1978-1984, was an active member of the VFW, Porterfield Sportsman's Club where he served as both President and Vice President, and a member of the Marinette Moose Lodge.
After he retired, he enjoyed the comforts of country living along the Peshtigo River where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, cutting his large lawn, helping others with home projects, spending time with his family, close friends and especially his grandchildren whom he adored.

Gerald is survived by his loving wife, Grace,
his three children: Brian (Conni) Wedin of Appleton, Wis., Kelly (Jim) Danielczak of Marinette, Wis. and Bradley Wedin of Atlanta, Ga.;
four grandchildren: Owen and Dillon Wedin and Colby and Keeley Danielczak.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents Wallace and Ellen Francis Wedin and an infant brother that died at birth.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the Thielen Funeral Home on Sunday, July 20, 2014 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. with a Funeral Service at 3 p.m. A Moose Lodge Service will be held at 2:45 p.m. Burial will be in St Joseph's Cemetery in Walsh with military honors by the Military 20 Year Club.
