Elroy W. Brandes, age 92 of Brillion, died on Thursday July 17, 2014 at Brillion West Haven.
He was born on October 12, 1921 in New Holstein, son of the late Louis & Anna (Riemer) Brandes. He married Lorraine Ebert on May 4, 1948 in Reedsville.
Elroy served in the U.S. Army during WW II. After he returned from service, Elroy worked as a cheese maker and later worked at Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry in Manitowoc until his retirement. He loved to fish and play dart ball and was very proud of his military service. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Brillion and the Bloedorn Becker Jensen American Legion Post #126 in Brillion.

Survivors include his children, Jane Sagunsky of Greenville, Bill (LuAnn) Brandes of Brillion, Steve (Vicky) Brandes of Brillion, 8 grandchildren, Andrew Sagunsky, Melissa (Craig) Geiger, Bill (Marsha) Brandes, Casey (Melissa) Brandes, Craig (Moria) Brandes, Jacqueline Brandes, Cory Brandes and Christina Brandes, 8 great grandchildren, a brother Ralph Brandes of Manitowoc, 3 sisters-in-law Clarabelle (John) Ruh of Brillion, Jeanette Brandes and Rosella Grams both of Manitowoc, special friends Earl and Bernice Tesch and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Lorraine on May 19, 2010, a son-in-law Robert Sagunsky, 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Funeral service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Monday July 21st at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brillion. The Rev. Ross Henzi will officiate. Entombment will be at Knollwood Mausoleum, Manitowoc. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 3:00-4:30 P.M.
