Marguerite T. Eddy, 91, passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at the Albany Medical Center Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Troy on January 14, 1920, she was the daughter of the late William and Helen Watson Hull and beloved wife of the late Howard Randall Eddy who died in 1997 following 51 years of marriage. Mrs. Eddy was a lifelong Troy resident where she and her husband operated Nicoll's Service Station on Hoosick Road in Sycaway for over 35 years. Mrs. Eddy was also the Proprietor of the Chatham Arms Restaurant of Cape Cod, Mass. She loved gardening and tended to her garden until her recent illness. She truly had a green thumb and loved flowers. Her greatest joy was her family, and was a devoted mother to her beloved son Bill who she cared for the last 35 years. While Bill kept her busy, he kept a watchful eye over her and made sure everything ran smoothly. Marguerite and Bill were a team, a great team. She was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend to many and will be greatly missed. Survivors in addition to her son Bill, include her son Robert H. (Donna) of Troy; Her grandchildren Gretchen S. Eddy and Brooke (Joseph) Quintal; great grandchildren Dylan & Hailey Quintal and Vivien and Claire Schissler , her sister Joan Pape of Rensselaer and sister-in-law Louise Eddy of Troy and many nieces and nephews In addition to her parents and husband, Marguerite was predeceased by her siblings John "Jack" Hull, Doris McGuire, Ruth St.Gelais, William Hull, Jr. and Marion Reinhart. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 23, 2011 at 10:00 am at the Doran Funeral Home 9 South Lake Avenue, Troy. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited and may call on Thursday from 4-7 pm at the funeral home. As a tribute to Marguerite and in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to the charity of one's choice. - See more at: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/troyrecord/obituary.aspx?n=marguerite-t-eddy&pid=153753415#sthash.pvECf41W.dpuf
