Mrs. Rose Ella Headlee, 87, of Mt. Morris, died at 7:30 a.m. Monday, November 2, 1970, in the Memory Lane Nursing Home, Waynesburg, R. D. 2. She had not been in the best of health for some time and had been seriously ill for the past two days.
She was born March 11, 1883, in Gilmore Township, near Pine Bank, a daughter of John and Elsie Gump Mariner. Her husband, Eli E. Headlee, died January 21, 1943.
Mrs. Headlee spent the early part of her life in the Pine Bank area, and for the past several years had resided at Mt. Morris (Shannon Run), where she was a member of the Shannon Run United Methodist Church and the WSCS of the church.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Grace Headlee Fox, of Mt. Morris; one grandson, James N. Fox, of Mt. Morris; three great-grandchildren, Carrie, Alita Jo and Arnold Dale Fox, and several nieces and nephews.
She was the last of her immediate family, with four sisters and five brothers having preceded her in death.
