Myrtle was the fourth of ten children born to Clyde and Maudie Mae (Petty) Harper. She married (1) Joe Frank Baker and they were the parents of three children: Margaret Lucille, Joe Frank and Richard Lewis. She married (2) Virgil James Kinney and they had two sons: Donald Ray and Clyde William.
