THOMASVILLE - Hugh J. Harvell, 49, of Thomasville died Sunday at Community General Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Billy Joe Yates officiating. Burial will be at Holly Hill Memorial Park.
A native of Stanly County, he had lived in Thomasville 28 years and was employed at Amazon Cotton Mills. He attended Jackson Creek Baptist Church.
Surviving are daughter, Mrs. Roger McCann of Lexington, sisters, Mrs. Willis James Tucker of Stanfield, Mrs. Melvin Morris of Shelby, Mrs. Alfred Thomas of Oakboro, Mrs. Jake Burris of Camden, S.C.; two grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. today,.other times at the home of Mrs. McCann, Old Highway 109 South.
