USMA Class of 1947. He was the son of Rocco and Rosina Lamattina. His family immigrated to the United States in 1928. During his career in the United States Air Force he was awarded the Korean Service Medal with four bronze stars, World War II Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal with one Bronze Service Star, Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon with one Silver Oak Leaf Cluster, Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation, Commendation Ribbon and the Bronze Star Medal.
