EDINA, Mo.—Clarence (Bill) Garrett, 72, of Kansas City, Mo., formerly of Edina, died Monday afternoon (May 16, 1983) in St. Joseph Hospital in Kansas City.
He was born April 5, 1911, at Green Castle, Mo., the son of William O. and Myrtle Strait Garrett. He married Julia Callaway on June 30, 1935, in Edina. She survives.
Mr. Garrett was a graduate of Edina High School and attended Rockhurst College in Kansas City. He served in the U.S. Navy in the North and South Pacific during World War II. In 1942, he moved to Kansas City, where he was employed by the accounting department of Bendix Corporation for 16 years and by the Land Clearing and Redevelopment Authority for 10 years. He was a mem ber of the United Methodist Church in Edina.
He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Joe (Minnie) Rose of Edina and Mrs. Henry (Rita) McAllister of San Jose, Calif. He was preceded in death by a sister.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Friday in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel in Edina, conducted by the Rev. Luke Turnbough. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at Edina.
