Born near Edon (Williams Co.) Ohio. he enlisted in the U.S. Army on Feb. 3, 1943. During his career he served with occupation forces in Japan after WWII; in the infantry from 1947-49; in Korea in 1956-57; in Vietnam and Turkey from 1967-70. He was honorably discharged on June 6, 1971 at Fort Sill, Oklahoma with the rank of Army Master Sergeant. After his retirement he lived at Lawton, Oklahoma.
