Clyde M. Huffman, 86, of Portsmouth, died Monday, July 21, 2014.

He was born August 30, 1927 at Portsmouth, the son of the late Charles Melvin Huffman Sr. and Lillian Huffman. A retired Field Inspector for Hayes, Donaldson, and Wittenmeyer and a World War II Army Veteran.

Clyde was preceded in death by his wife Kathleen Marcella Patterson Huffman, four brothers, Charles Huffman, Milton Huffman, Orin Huffman, and Reginald Huffman, two sisters Miriam Huffman and Roberta Huffman.

Surviving are his daughters Teresa Ellen (Mike) Kelly of Portsmouth and Julie (Mike) Bricker of West Portsmouth, three grandchildren, Stacey Ratliff of Portsmouth, Amanda Kathleen Bricker Ratcliff of Stout, and Jerrod Michael Bricker of West Portsmouth; two great-grandchildren, Justin Ratliff and William Michael Bricker; sister Joyce (Jack) Rickman of Sumter, South Carolina; and a special friend Sara Griffin.

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday July 25, 2014 at Melcher Funeral Home with Dennis Daws officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Burial Park with Military Graveside Rites by James Dickey Post 23 American Legion. Friends may call at Melcher Funeral Home from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday and from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. Friday
