Swanson, Dixie S., 78, died at home Sunday July 13th 2014 following a long battle with cancer. Born June 10th 1936. She graduated from Cheney High School in 1954 and then received a Bachelors and Masters degree in Education from Emporia State University. Dixie taught English at Truesdell Junior High for 25 years then transferred and retired from Wichita North High School. Survived by her husband Manning (Swanny) and brother Galind Keefe. Preceded in death by her parents Bessie (Olthoff) and Francis Keefe of Cheney, KS.
