Actress and leading lady of silent films. One of nine children born to Irish immigrants John O'Connor and Elizabeth Kinney, she appeared in more than 30 films from 1918 to 1924, many of them of the Western genre. She was leading lady to Tom Mix in "Ace High" (1918) and "Hell-Roarin' Reform" (1919). She also starred in the 1919 Universal 18-part serial "The Lion Man." Other film credits include "Vamping the Vamp" (1918), "Who's Zoo?" (1918), "Bullet Proof" (1920), "Life's Darn Funny" (1921), "The Married Flapper" (1922), "Wild Bill Hickok" (1922) and "Dark Stairways" (1924). "Ace High" was written and directed by Lynn F. Reynolds; they were married in June, 1921. Their marriage ended in tragedy when her husband fatally shot himself February 24, 1927, after a quarrel in their home at 8281 Fountain Avenue in Hollywood. He had returned from shooting the film "Back to God's Country" in Bishop, California after being snowbound with the cast and crew for several days. During a welcome home party, he and Kathleen got into an argument after she reportedly teased him about being too friendly with "God's Country" co-star Renée Adorée. Accusations of infidelity came from both sides, ensuing in a fight climaxing with her husband shooting himself in the head. He died the next day. Kathleen never resumed her film career and ironically, was remarried several years later to another man named Reynolds—Clark Reynolds, a realtor. Kathleen O'Connor Reynolds died at the couple's home at 4211 Ethel Avenue in North Hollywood of a cerebral hemorrhage, age 62. Her second husband and seven of her siblings were among her survivors. She was originally buried at San Fernando Mission Cemetery in Mission Hills, California, but was removed and reburied back in her native state in the O'Connor family plot on October 24, 1964.
