Russell "Rusty" Delane Fowler was born on Sept. 7, 1947, to the late Leroy "Pete" Fowler and Alberta Imogene Stunson in Harrisburg. He passed away on Saturday, May 5, 2007.

Rusty graduated from Harrisburg High School and received a master's and bachelor's degrees from Centralia College. He was an avid baseball player in high school and was offered the chance to play professionally.

Rusty was preceded in death by his parents and one infant brother, Gary Deon.

He is survived by a daughter, Tammy Jo; a brother, Terry Fowler and wife April of Harrisburg; an aunt, Lovie Stunson of Harrisburg; special cousins, Hovie Stunson of Harrisburg and Bonnie Matlock of Memphis, Tenn.; and numerous other cousins.

There will be a private memorial service held at a later date. The family requests anyone wishing to make memorial contributions in Rusty's name should do so either to the Harrisburg Police Department or the Harrisburg Fire Department.

He died as a result of a house fire and Fowler was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of death is smoke inhalation.
