Funeral services for Joyce Faye Cornwell, 80, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Rev. Billy Smith officiating.
Interment will follow at White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point.
She passed away Sunday morning, July 20, 2014, on her 57th wedding anniversary at Presbyterian Hospital in Kaufman.
Joyce was born July 28, 1933, in Wills Point, Texas, the daughter of Wills Spears and Catherine Johnson Spears.
She was raised in Wills Point where she attended Wills Point High School.
On December 20, 1950, she married Lloyd Eugene Goggans and he preceded her in death.
On July 20, 1957, she married Gene Cornwell. Joyce had been employed by Baker Clinic Hospital in Wills Point for several years, Goggans Funeral Home in Terrell and Hallman Memorials in Wills Point. She was a member of Elwood Baptist Church north of Wills Point.
Preceded in death by her parents, Willis and Catherine Spears; first husband, Lloyd Goggans; grandson, Chris Bowling; step-father, Forrest Scott and a great-granddaughter.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Gene Cornwell, of Wills Point; two sons, Mike Goggans & wife, Debbie, of Wills Point and James Cornwell & wife, Beverly, of Wills Point; daughter, Shirley Kizzia & husband, Joe, of Wills Point; two brothers, Clyde Scott & wife, Peggy, of Terrell and Dale Scott & wife, Evelyn, of Terrell; sister, Inez Wakefield, of Garland; nine grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren.
