MOS: 0301 Basic Infantry Officer.


Drew was born in Denver and traveled all over the country, as his father was a US Marine officer. While in CA he enlisted in the Marines 13 December 1968, at a San Francisco Recruiting Office.

Arriving in Vietnam Drew was assigned to Kilo Company, 3rd Battalion, 26th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division. During a company search and sweep the Marines encountered hostile forces in the vicinity of Phua Binh (1) and 5 kilometers north of the An Hoa Airfield. Drew was wounded 27 of February, during the engagement and was med evac to the Station Hospital in Danang, where he died 9 March, as a result of overwhelming septicemia, due to gunshot wounds to the abdomen and right leg.

Tour of duty unknown.

Survived by his parents, Col Drew J and Mrs. Jean N Barrett Jr of 5207 Milland St, Springfield, Virginia.
