Austin Embree, age 88, of Flower Mound, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2014, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 19, 1925 in Sweetwater, Texas to Austin Martin Embree, II and Nora Currey Embree. Austin served in the United States Navy during World War II. He married Billie Lou Salinas on December 21, 1946 in Mount Pleasant. Austin was former owner of J.G Boyd stores. He is survived by his wife, Billie; son, Bill Austin Embree; four grandchildren, Grant Embree Grady Embree, Amy Pickard and Abby Allison; eight great grandchildren, Brayden Embree, Lilia Embree, Ella Embree, Braxton Allison, Avery Allison, Logan Pickard, Rylie Pickard and Payton Pickard and siblings, Sue Havenstrite, Shirley Jackson, James Embree, William Embree and Helen Decker. Austin was preceded in death by a son, Gary Wayne Embree; his parents, and siblings, Nancy Embree, Weaver Embree, Doris Lambert, Betty Langford, Marie Keith and Jane Taylor. A service to celebrate Austin's life will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 31, 2014, at West Main Church of Christ in Lewisville. Interment will follow at Flower Mound Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville.
