My grandfather was an ocean of a man, steady as the tides, stronger than the waves, and louder in love than the magnitude of hurricanes that blow through in the summer. His love for life, particularly his family, was present to the very last days of his long and fulfilling life. A man dedicated to the safety and service of those around him in work and play, went home to be with the Father he loved on Monday. Not a moment too soon or a moment too late, he came on the ebb and went on a flow, and not before leaving thousands of footprints on the hearts of those he touched with big hands and a signature smile. We could not have been more blessed with a patriarch than this man: a man who was stronger than the smell of coffee in the morning and bigger than mountains who loved with actions that caused ripples which touched so much more than just his family. (Written by his granddaughter, Dee.)

Visitation was on 1 Aug 2014, and burial on 2 Aug 2014.
