She is preceded in death by husband, James Frank Ratcliffe; parents, Samuel Woodrow Dixon and Evelyn Lena Owens Dixon; son, Samuel Dale Buchanan.; sister, Shirley Whittington and former husbands Clyde Dale Buchanan and Lindsey Stewart Hassell.

She is survived by her two daughters, Sheila (Thad) Bella, Sherri (Wayne) Ward; two sisters, Barbara Brown and Tina Cummings; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

McCombs Funeral and Crematory of Cape Girardeau, MO is in charge of arrangements.
