AGATHA LEIST
Agatha A. Leist, age 99, formerly of Valders, died on Sunday afternoon, November 24, 2013, at St. Mary's Home in Manitowoc.
Agatha was born March 20, 1914, in the town of Cato, daughter of the late John and Caroline (Bohman) Pritzl. On May 10, 1938, she married Edward Leist at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Clarks Mills. He preceded her in death on January 15, 1986.
Agatha farmed with her husband Edward for most of her life. She was a member of the Marion Council, Valders Senior Center, Manitowoc Homemakers Association, Manitowoc Farm Bureau and Faith Lutheran Quilters.
Survivors include her children: John and Geri Leist, Reedsville; Ann Smaglik, Manitowoc; Robert and Charlotte Leist, Reedsville; William and Kathy Leist, Manitowoc; Karl Leist, Sammamish, WA; 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, one great great grandaughter; brothers and sisters: Norbert and Rita Pritzl, Cato; Marie Schermetzler, Manitowoc; Anna Mae and Roger Cornils, Manitowoc; Gerry and Dave Brochoud, Waukesha; Eunice and Lee Beilke, Manitowoc; Monica Herzog, Manitowoc; Paul and Vi Pritzl, Manitowoc; Ed and Ann Pritzl, Cato; Kathy and Ron Krupski, Manitowoc; Don and Joyce Pritzl, Luxemberg; and Susie and Howie Zimmerman, Manitowoc. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law: Victoria Leist, one son-in-law: Ed Smaglik, one great grandson, Chad Wampler; one sister and brother-in-law: Irene and Joe Oswald; two brothers and one sister-in-law: Othmar and Laura Pritzl and John (JP) Pritzl; two brothers-in-law: Bernard Schermetzler, and Bob Herzog.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2013, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Clarks Mills. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Richard Klingeisen with burial at the church cemetery to follow.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday, November 30, 2013, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clarks Mills, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
