Mrs. Ida Larter
Passes Away at
Inglewood, Calif.
Word has been received of the
death of Mrs. Ida Larter at her
home in Inglewood, Calif. She
would have been 80 years old very
soon.
For most of a quarter of a cen-
tury since moving to California, she
spent a larg part of the summer in
Whitefish as the house guest of Mr.
and Mrs. C. H. Jennings, and her
coming was always an inspiration
to her many friends here to enter-
tain in her honor.
Mrs. Jennings stated Wednesday
in speaking of Mrs. Larter's death,
that Mrs. Larter and her husband,
the late Robert Larter, were the
only ones at the wedding of Mr. and
Mrs. Jennings outside of the im-
mediated families.
Mr. Larter, a Great Northern rail-
way engineer, was fatally injured
in a railway accident between Bon-
ners Ferry and Troy.
Mr. and Mrs. Larter came to the
new town of Kalispell, which was
then the division point of the Great
Northern, from Minot, N. Dak.
When the division point was
changed to Whitefish in 1904, they
moved to Whitefish, and later took
up their residence in Spokane.
Friend at Whitefish are awaiting
word as to whether the body will be
shipped to Montana, as Mrs. Lar-
ter's Husband and son are both bur-
ied in Conrad Memorial Cemetery.
