He was born May 30, 1949 to Gilbert and Marcellian Mieseler. Leon attended Carver Elementary School and graduated from Chaska High School. He served in the United States Army from 1969 until 1971. After his service he attended Hennepin Technical College and moved to Wisconsin where he worked as an electrical technician and raised his family.
Leon had a passion for alternative energy and all things mechanical and electrical. He knew a lot about many different subjects and was always curious to know more. He loved making people laugh and was good at it. He made friends easily and had many friends around the world.
Leon moved back to Minnesota in the mid- 90's, met and married his wife, Tillie (Hurlburt) on March 17, 2000 in Glenwood Springs, Colorado.
Survivors include his wife, Tillie; two sons Aaron Mieseler of Denver, Colorado and Daniel Mieseler of Scottsdale, Arizona; two brothers, Jim (Theresa) of Chaska, Minnesota, Gary (Paula Forner) of Norwood, Minnesota; two sisters, Dianne Norskog of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota and Mary (Harry) Hartung of Henderson, Minnesota; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Marcellian Mieseler.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, August 2, 2014 in the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church on 5617 Rowland Road, Minnetonka, Minnesota. with a service to follow. Burial will be Tuesday, August 5th at Noon at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
