Willis was born to Dan and Sophronia Sherwood. He was the third child of 14 children.

He was raised on a ranch in Arizona where he learned to ride bulls and wild horses. He was a self taught man with many talents and inventions.

In his retirement, he had a woodshop and built furniture.

He passed away peacefully.

Willis was preceded in death by his wife, Glena Hatch Sherwood.
He is survived by his daughters, Judith Leuck and husband Frank, Sharon Rollans and husband Howard, Cheryl Nelson, and Vikie Lee Baker and husband Dan; four brothers; and two sisters. Willis also leaves behind 27 grandchildren; 72 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1880 E. Gettysburg, Clovis on Friday, August 8, 2014, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.

A Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints, on Friday, August 8, 2014, at 2:00 p.m.

A Graveside Service will be held at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles, CA. on Saturday, August 9, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. Boice Funeral Home, 308 Pollasky Avenue, Clovis, California (559)299-4372
