Albert was the third of four children born to Stephen & Mary (Homolga) Tomory. His siblings were Mary, Stephen & William.

He enlisted in the Army at Fort Hayes, Columbus, OH on 20 October 1942.

Pvt Tomory was first assigned to Company A, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment but was transferred to Hq 1st on 23 February 1944.

He was France killed in Normandy on D-Day, June 6, 1944.

Pvt Tomory was initially interred in the Blosville Cemetery in Plot A, Row 3, Grave 46. He was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart and the Combat Infantryman Badge.
