Mr. Bruce Dean Atkins, 62, of Mt. Airy passed away Friday, August 8, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem. He was born in Forsyth County on December 5, 1951 to the late James Ellis and Thelma Marion Atkins. Mr. Atkins was retired from Cross Creek Apparel and was a member of White Plains Baptist Church. He is survived by one niece, two nephews, several cousins and special friends. In addition to his parents Mr. Atkins was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Patton and a brother, Charles Henry Atkins. A graveside service will be held Monday, August 11, 2014 at 2:00 PM at White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. David Tucker and the Rev. Dale Hawks officiating. The family will receive friends after the graveside service at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Moody Funeral Home in Mt.
