When Kenneth Cecil Peterson was born on December 1, 1899, in Badger, Iowa, his father, Tollak "Thomas" Østerhus Peterson, was 31 and his mother, Adeline H (Knudson) Peterson, was 30. He had one brother and two sisters.

He enlisted in the US Army on Oct 11, 1918. Discharged Dec 10, 1918.

He married Wilma M Arnett (1903-1992) on July 26, 1922 in Ames, Iowa.

He died on March 22, 1932 at the age of 32.

BADGER, March 24 - Funeral services for Kenneth Cecil Peterson, 34, prominent Badger resident who died at a Veteran’s hospital Sulphur, OK, after a long period of ill health will be held at the Badger Lutheran church at 2 o’clock pm Saturday.

Mr Peterson, son of Mr and Mrs T K Peterson, well-known banking family of Badger, was connected with the state banking department at the time ill-health forced his retirement a few months ago. He went to Iowa City first for treatment and from there to Oklahoma.

He attended the Badger public schools and was graduated from the Fort Dodge high school in 1918. He was of the Iowa State college graduating class of 1923 and a member of the Tao Gamma Nu fraternity.

For eight years he was a cashier of the Badger Saving bank. He was very active in community affairs and was a prominent member of the local Legion post.

He leaves his wife, Wilma Arnett Peterson and two children, Gerald, 8 and Barbara Jean, 5. His parents, one brother, Lloyd, of Oskaloosa, and two sisters, Gladys, of Nevada, Iowa and Mrs Sidney Owen, of Lincoln, NE, also survive.

The funeral of Mr Peterson will not be a military funeral, but all members of Fort Dodge American Legion Post No. 130, of which he was a member, are asked to attend if possible.
