Mrs. Bruso was employed at F.W. Woolworth Co. and True Stitch Footwear, both in Malone, and was a Stanley Home Products dealer until her retirement, after over 24 years.
Born July 18, 1934, in Malone, a daughter of Charles and Thelma Fayette Thompson, she was a 1952 graduate of Franklin Academy, Malone, and married Lloyd H. Bruso on July 4, 1953, at Notre Dame Church, Malone.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church and a member of St. Francis of Assisi Altar and Rosary Society, Constable, and Westville Homemakers. She was a former volunteer for Literacy Volunteers and den mother for Cub Scout Pack 108 and enjoyed reading, crocheting, jig saw puzzles and going for rides in the country with her husband looking at wildlife.
Surviving besides her husband are two sons and their wives, Wayne and Janine, Westville, and Lee and Christine, Waddington; four grandchildren, three great- grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A brother, Darrell "Pop" Thompson, died in 1997.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home, Malone, with the Rev. Garry B. Giroux officiating. Burial will be later this spring in St. Augustine's Cemetery, North Bangor.
