Edna Baker was the youngest of the 11 children of America Holton (Thompson) and Daniel Ayres Baker of Colfax, Washington. Edna received her education in the Whitman County schools.

Edna was first married on August 16, 1939 in Lewiston, Idaho to Burnie L. Hughes. They moved to the Seattle area and he died four years later in 1943.

Edna second married Basilio Mata on August 31, 1952 in Washington. She died four years later. She was affiliated with the Congregational Christian Church in Seattle.

Died at age 51 years, 4 months, 20 days.

Edna was a grandaughter of Mary Elizabeth (Ford) & Capt. Joseph Moran Thompson of Wabash, Indiana; she was a gr-granddaughter of Dr. James & America (Holton) Ford of Wabash, Indiana.
