Son of Claude D. Moore and Blanche Daugherty. After his graduation from Penn State in 1941 with a degree in forestry, Leonard served his country in the Army Air Corps as a WWII bomber pilot, flying most of his missions in B24s and B26s out of Alaska.
After his service to his country, Leonard married Dorothy Kappel in New Martinsville, WV. He then became a U.S. Forest Ranger and supervised timber management for 25 years.
Leonard was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, his stepmother Ila West Moore, and a sister, Winifred Arman. He is survived by a sister, two daughters, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
