Sergeant First Class Charles Lee "Mac" McKinney, US Army (retired), 84, of East View, WV went home to be with his heavenly father and "Honey Girl" his beloved companion whom he loved unconditionally on Monday evening, August 11, 2014 at 10:00 pm.
Charles was born in Morgantown on September 17, 1929. A son of the late Solomon McKinney and Leota Drummond McKinney. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Geraldine "Gerry" McCloy, Lawrence McKinney and Delphie McKinney; his wife, Evelyn Harris McKinney (Honey Girl), an infant daughter, Rosalee, and one-great grandson, Zayvion Jim Hardy.
Charles is survived by 2 sons, Allen "Lynn" McKinney and wife Paula McKinney and Ricky Lee McKinney as well as 3 daughters, Ella "Dee Dee" Amanda Moore and husband James Moore Jr., Reginee Laree Constable and husband Jeff Constable and Lana Jean White. He is also survived by 1 sister, Eva Drummond, 9 grandchildren, Amanda Jo Stutler, Jessica Dawn Hardy, Jamie Lynn Cox, Tabitha Dawn Cunningham, Vanessa Desiree Richards, Charles "Michael" Richards, Joshua Lee McKinney, Carrie Lynn Moore and Toni Lynn Roblee; 21 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many loved ones.
Charles "Mac" McKinney was a 22 year retiree from the US Army. He was also employed with B&O Railroad, Clarksburg Casket Company, Continental Can and Eagles Convex Glass Factory throughout the years.
He will be remembered most for his love and generosity.
Friends and family will be received at the Hutson Funeral Home, 500 E. Main St., Mannington, WV on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. and on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Tim Shuttlesworth officiating. Interment will be in the Mannington Memorial Park.
