Services will be held tomorrow for Dr. Matthias James Hoffman, an Oak Lawn civic and fraternal leader for years.
The dentist's rites will be at 9 a.m. from the chapel at 8508 S. Kedzie ave. to St. Gerald's church, Oak Lawn. Interment will be in St. Mary's cemetery.
Dr. Hoffman was the first grand marshall and one of the founders of the Oak Lawn Roundup parade and celebration which always is one of the high points of the suburb's Summer.
Hoffman was the secretary of the Oak Lawn Sportsman's club, and an early organizer of the Civil Air Patrol in which he was a pilot, a past grand Knight of St Rita's Knights of Columbus, the first grand knight and the organizer of our Lady of Fatima K. of C. Counsell, and a member of Glendale post of the American Legion.
