Funeral rites were conducted yesterday afternoon for Mrs. Elizabeth Funk Vernon, aged 79, of near Rutan, who died at 7:15 p.m., Monday, May 21, 1934, in the Greene County Memorial hospital following a two weeks' illness. The services were held in the South Ten Mile Baptist church, near Graysville, with Rev. J. C. Myers in charge. Burial was in the South Ten Mile cemetery.
A daughter of J. S. and Margaret Craft Funk, she was born February 28, 1855, near Rices Landing. She married Mack Vernon and spent most of her life in Center township. She leaves one son, Ray Vernon, of Graysville, R. D. 1; three brothers, George Funk, of Waynesburg, R. D. 7; James Funk, of Holbrook, R. D., and W. L. Funk, of Graysville, R. D. 1, and two grandchildren.
