German nobility. Born Luise Amelie Stephanie von Baden, the eldest child of Karl von Baden and Stéphanie de Beauharnais. In 1830 she married Gustav of Holstein-Gottrop who was an officer in the Austro-Hungarian Army. The couple lived at Schönbrunn. She bore him two children of which only their daughter survived into adulthood. They were divorced in 1844. Afterwards she often lived with her sister Josephine in Sigmaringen. She was buried at the Erlöserkirche, even though she was not a member of the Hohenzollern dynasty.
